Sunday Figure Drawing at MCAD 2016-2017

What's up, blog...how have you been?  These are some figure studies done at MCAD from October 2016 to May 2017 in a continuing education class (uninstructed) that met every Sunday from 1-5 p.m.  It was a good experience, overall, learned a lot of things...the most important thing being that there is much, much more that needs to be learned.  These drawings range from 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 minutes (and maybe one or two 30 minute poses).  Biggest problems: still too slow, heads too big, portraits need work.  Also, it seems that, in figure quick sketch, the key is more about knowing how to render, very precisely, the key, focal elements, and then, more importantly, leaving out as much as you can from the drawing (loosing it in the shadows, mostly).  This is hard to do.

These were done on smooth newsprint with an Ebony Pencil by Prismacolor.

Enjoy!
